With the January transfer window having come and gone, snl24.com/kickoff assesses the top five PSL transfers just after the halfway point of the season.
It's back to business as usual in the domestic game after a few clubs completed some of their January signings on the last day of transfer window on Friday.
We look at some of the bigger and more exciting moves as clubs prepare for the second half of the season, with a few teams focused on silverware, some qualification, and others simply survival.
TRANSFERS All the January done deals
Nathan Sinkala (Stellenbosch)
Undoubtedly the biggest signing in Stellenbosch FC's history, Sinkala comes with big pedigree after winning the CAF Champions League and twice and the CAF Confederation Cup with DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.
The Zambia international, 28, has also had short stints in both France and Switzerland and was linked with both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in the past.
Sinkala missed Stellies' last league game against Black Leopards due to work permit issues but there is no doubt that he is expected to play a big role to help the Western Cape club move away from the relegation zone.
Nkanyiso Zungu (Orlando Pirates)
Popularly known as 'Pelembe' during his days with AmaZulu's youth academy, Zungu's move from Stellenbosch to Pirates came as a big surprise.
The 24-year-old midfielder comes highly rated after spending time with KwaZulu-Natal Academy and Usuthu. It will be interesting to see how the former Usuthu midfielder settles down at Pirates.
Technically gifted and a great passer of the ball, Zungu is coming up against Fortune Makaringe, Linda Mntambo, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Ben Motswari and Xola Mlambo for a place in central midfield.
Justice Chabalala (Bloemfontein Celtic)
Chabalala spent most of his time at Pirates on the sidelines after being recalled from Chippa United at the end of last season.
Despite failing to secure regular game-time at Pirates, the Limpopo-born defender remains a fan favourite among the Bucs faithful.
This could be the last chance for Chabalala to prove himself at Celtic and show people that he deserves to retain his jersey at Pirates next season.
Ruzaigh Gamildien (Chippa United)
This is another surprise signing by Chippa United.
Gamildien returns to United for a second time after a successful spell with Steenberg United in the GladAfrica Championship where he scored several goals this season.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder came off the bench during the league game against Pirates in Port Elizabeth last weekend and quickly made a great impression.
Moses Waiswa (SuperSport United)
It took about six months for United to officially announce the signing of Waiswa.
He can play both defensively and in an attacking role and is already touted as a capable replacement for departing captain Dean Furman.
The Uganda international, who also enjoyed a stint in Sweden, was voted FUFA player of the year in 2018.
