Swallows FC could settle for defender Pentjie Zulu as a direct replacement for Thabo Matlaba after arriving at the club for assessment.

Swallows were dealt a major blow when Matlaba resigned from the club at the weekend and shortly after, resurfaced in Kwazulu-Natal yesterday to join Royal AM.

The Dube Birds have since invited Zulu for assessment with a view of signing if he impresses the club's technical team.

Swallows boss, David Mogashoa has confirmed the presence of the former Black Leopards defender at training.

"Yes, he (Pentjie Zulu ) is training with the club. We are waiting for the coach and his technical team to give us a report on whether we sign him or not," Mogashoa tells snl24.com/kickoff.

Swallows are currently relying on Tebogo Langerman and Yagan Sasman for the left-back positions after the departure of Thabo Matlaba to join Royal AM this week.
