Chenene recently had a training stint with Chippa cut short as the club plans to first release players when the transfer window opens at the start of the new year.
Roger Sikhakhane, the Chippa coach, confirms the latest developments.
“Chenene has been training with us but we have since stopped him,” Sikhakhane tells snl24.com/kickoff.
“He will come back in January if we manage to loan some players out first. We have about 33 players right now and we feel we need to loan some players out first to create space for anyone new in the team. The numbers in our squad are really important because we don’t want to have a squad that is way too big.”
Chenene is a free agent after cutting ties with SuperSport United in July and had been training with Chippa for several weeks after linking up with the club in October.
Meanwhile, Tshwane University of Technology striker Itumeleng Mogotsi is training with the Chilli Boys.
“He will be with us for a week,” says Sikhakhane.
