Orlando Pirates star Deon Hotto invests in farming

Orlando Pirates midfielder Deon Hotto has revealed that just like his on-field talents, he is just as skilled at his passion outside of football.

Hotto spent an extended festive break back in Namibia and candidly revealed his passion for farming.

The Namibian international will be part of the Dinaledi team to compete in the inaugural DStv Compact this coming weekend.

"I own cattle such as goats and various other livestock at my farm in Swakopmund," Hotto tells KickOff.

"I have about 54 cattle. At the moment I am not doing it as a business but only for subsistence farming.

"I have family members looking after the farm when I am in South Africa."

Despite playing for one of the biggest teams in South Africa, Hotto still lives a modest lifestyle and drives an economic VW Polo every day into training.

"Dean Hotto is one of the most disciplined players in the league and looks after himself very well.

"He lives a normal lifestyle with little fancy stuff," a close friend said.
