Engelbrecht is a University of Stellenbosch graduate and has previously worked with Banyana Banyana, Ajax Cape Town as well as a number of Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
Pirates coach Eric Tinkler says he is pleased with the appointment of Engelbrecht, whom he previously met at a KNVB coaching course.
“I met him at a KNVB instructors course some time ago and I’ve known him since then. He’s really good at what he does, and I like the way he works,” Tinkler tells this website.
“One thing in particular that I like about him is that everything he does is football specific – even stuff like aerobics is done with a ball.”
