Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is rapidly developing a knack for scoring great goals. After winning the PSL Goal of the Month for December, here is a look at his best strikes for the Amakhosi thus far.
Ngcobo opened his account for the 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign last month when he rifled home an unstoppable left-footed effort to guide Kaizer Chiefs to an impressive 2-0 win over league newcomers Sekhukhune United.
That striker earned the 22-year-old the PSL Goal of the Month award but it wasn't the first time he has impressed in front of goal for the Soweto giants. Here is a look at his best goals in the famous gold and black jersey.
5. Cape Town City 1-2 Kaizer Chiefs (16 January 2021)
With his confidence flowing after scoring his first-ever goal for Kaizer Chiefs in the month before, Ngcobo's predatory goalscoring qualities were once again on display during the league clash against Cape Town City in January 2021. On that occasion, the youngster needed just seven minutes to open the scoring against the Citizens, latching on to a bouncing ball in the box before firing past Peter Leeuwenburgh in goal.
4. Kaizer Chiefs 2-2 Stellenbosch (6 April 2021)
Ngcobo's left foot was once again the source of joy for the Amakhosi faithful in April last year when it served as the source of a late equaliser in Chiefs' 2-2 draw against Stellenbosch. The South Africa international, who was also named Man of the Match, made a late run into the Stellies box where he latched onto a Happy Mashiane pass before squirming the ball home to steal a share of the spoils.
3. Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 Maritzurg United (22 December 2021)
"He is a machine, is Mshini, when he gets into that area..." Those were the words that rang out from the commentary box after Nkosingiphile Ngcobo's goal against Maritzburg United in December last year. The 22-year-old's technical ability was on display for all to see as he cut in from the edge of the box before curling home a remarkable effort against the Team of Choice.
2. Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (19 January 2021)
There can be no questioning why Ngcobo is regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in South Africa after watching his goal against TTM last season. His skill and composure came to the fore in the early stages of that encounter when he brought a high ball under control in the box and juggled it over the onrushing defender before blasting home yet another left-footed scorcher. Put that on repeat.
1. Kaizer Chiefs 2-0 Sekhukhune United (12 December 2021)
Last, but certainly not least, is Ngcobo's Goal of the Month effort against Sekhukhune United last month. This time, precision was met with incredible power as the Chiefs star let loose a long-range effort from outside of the box which left Toaster Nsabata with no chance in goal.
