Dear Bloggers,
We know change is often met with opposition, but unfortunately we’ve been forced to make the difficult decision to move across to a new commenting platform.
As you should know by now, Adobe has decided to shut down its Livefyre Community Comments service and will be turning it read-only on 9 March 2017 (initially they stated it would be 1 February 2017 and they had us scrambling, only to discover they have extended the closure by a month).
We have looked at our options and Disqus is the best platform to continue serving you, our readers, with the same (or as close as possible) commenting experience as you enjoyed with Livefyre.
The bottom line is that Livefyre will be gone on 9 March, so we have two options – either we continue with the cluttered double comments system until 9 March or we switch off Livefyre now and go with Disqus.
We know that most of our regulars are still choosing Livefyre as long as it is there, but is that healthy? You know it won’t be around forever, sometimes a clean break and a fresh start is better…
So please, switch over to Disqus and let’s make it as great as Livefyre was and even better! The bonus is that it might even force out the trolls and idiots who spoil your current commenting experience. And the KICK OFF Blogger Awards will continue.
So in the spirit of what this is all about, let’s talk about it in the comments. Please leave us your feedback.
P.S. If you want to avoid being a ‘cow blogger’ on Disqus, change your avatar in your profile settings.
