Moroka Swallows release defender Tsietsi Mahoa

Mahoa started 14 games last season for Swallows – 12 of which came in the opening 14 League matches – and then disappeared when Shere Lekgothoane eventually became the preferred choice at left-back.

snl24.com/kickoff has since established that Mahoa and his handlers have since been informed that the club will not be taking up the option of another year on his contract.

This development effectively means that the 32-year-old will be free next month.

With Swallows relegated to the National First Division, the club is faced up with the challenge of a major overhaul which will be necessitated by the budgetary constraints and age-limit rules in the second tier.

The club has already indicated that they will not be retaining Mthokozisi Yende, while Vuyisile Wana and Lantshene Phalane have joined Bloemfontein Celtic.
