Mike Rapatsa: Mamelodi Sundowns need to pray Kaizer Chiefs will lose

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Mike 'Laduma' Rapatsa says Saturday's victory in the Soweto Derby has convinced him that Mamelodi Sundowns will not catch Amakhosi this season.

Rapatsa, who scored goals for Chiefs in the 90s, says he was also very much impressed with Pirates' performance over the weekend.

"Extremely hot and good football display for our country and a well-planned and deserved victory for Chiefs," he tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Chiefs will win the championship against all odds. Just read between the lines, mate! They are on top already! They already collected points.

"The so-called tough remaining remaining matches are difficult for themselves and their opponents. However, Chiefs' advantage is they have points in the pocket, not in hand."

Rapatsa, who is a pastor these days, says even Sundowns with their game in hand don't stand any chance of removing the Glamour Boys from the top of the Absa Premiership this season.

"But not this year," he exclaims. "The past three years they had real games in hand. This year even if they win all their remaining games, they will still wish and pray for Chiefs to lose.

"Do your point calculations, you will see."
