Mamelodi Sundowns submit lucrative offer for SuperSport United midfielder Teboho Mokoena

Sundowns are believed to be actively aiming to reinforce their star-filled squad even further by making one or two additions before the end of the January transfer window.

Mokoena has in recent months also been linked with a move to Orlando Pirates, but now seems that the defending champions lead the race for the Bafana Bafana midfielder's signature.

According to numerous sources close to the deal, negotiations between Sundowns and Tshwane rivals SuperSport have already begun.

Masandawana are mooted to have tabled an opening offer that includes a sizeable cash amount alongside first-team players in part exchange.

"The negotiations are ongoing and have elevated to another level this week," a source revealed.

"Sundowns are prepared to offer SuperSport United cash plus players but that offer is still to be finalised with the players yet to be identified."

Sundowns midfielder, George Maluleka who has previously been linked with a move away from Chloorkop due to a lack of game time is one name mentioned as a possibility in part of the deal that could see Mokoena moving in the opposite direction.

Promise Mkhuma is another player who is reportedly unsettled at Sundowns and is still yet to make a first-team appearance this season.
