Sources have informed snl24.com/kickoff that former Germany youth international Stephen Sama, who operates as a centre-back, has been training with the reigning DStv Premiership champions in recent weeks ahead of a possible move to Chloorkop.

The Cameroonian-born defender most recently represented Accrington Stanley in England and previously turned out for 2. Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart, where he also played in the DFL Cup, and in the Dutch Eredivisie for Heracles Almelo.

Sama's time in Europe included prior spells with VfL Osnabrück and SpVgg Greuther Fürth, while he also made no fewer than 16 appearances across the various youth levels for the German national team.

The 29-year-old spent five years in the development structures of Premier League giants Liverpool, featuring for the first team during the 2011 and 2012 pre-seasons, and enjoyed similar stints in the academies of both VfL Bochum and Borussia Dortmund.
