The national team recently lost Polokwane City number one Cyril Chibwe to Zambia when the Rustenburg-born goalkeeper opted to play for the country of his father's birth.
But fortunately in the case of the star Black Leopards midfielder, that will not be the case for him since talk that his father is from Zambia and his mother from Malawi are not true.
"I don't know anything about that, but what would I be doing in Malawi?" Kapinga replies to snl24.com/kickoff.
"They do have players there, even here in Mzansi you have players, but I will play here in South Africa, nowhere else.
"If I had to choose it would be Malawi and South Africa, but still, what would I be doing there as well? Because I grew up this side.
"My family is from Malawi, but the old generation not the current one you see. So that's why I'm saying I won't go there, I will play here.
"No one is from Zambia in my family, they are from Malawi and that was the old generation, not my dad. My dad and mom are also from here."
Kapinga says if afforded a chance by the national team selectors, he would gladly play for Bafana Bafana.
"What I can tell you is, I will play," he declares. "If given a chance, I will play."
