Leonardo Castro wants return to Kaizer Chiefs goalscoring form

Having been sidelined for the start of the 2021/22 campaign through injury, Castro made his long-awaited return to action in November last year when he featured as a late substitute in Chiefs' 1-0 league win over Maritzburg United.

The Colombian forward has since made two more appearances for the campaign and is now hoping to rediscover his goalscoring touch - having last netted in May against Black Leopards - when the Amakhosi meet TS Galaxy on Saturday.

"Hopefully, in the next game," Castro said when asked by Chiefs' media team about a return to goalscoring form. "I want to celebrate. I want to do my celebrations and show that I still have the hunger and the desire to play and to win for Kaizer Chiefs.

"The Nedbank Cup is an important tournament for us. We take each and every tournament seriously and we have to [approach] it in the right way, starting on the weekend. We have to give our all and continue into the next round.

"They [TS Galax] have quite a good team. We all know that when each and every team from the PSL comes to play Kaizer Chiefs, they give their lives so, for us, it is important to focus on where we are and where want to be."
