Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Arthur Bartman has retired

Bartman, now 41 and a veteran of 22 seasons in the professional ranks, has decided to quit the game but according to Chiefs' football manager Bobby Motaung, he still has a role to play within the club.

“Bartman has definitely retired. So now the situation is how do we integrate him into our youth development system specifically in the goalkeeping department so maybe he can plough back his experience in the youth,” Motaung says.

BobSteak adds the club is comfortable with Bartman's decision because they have enough cover for their number one goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune.

“We have two young keepers (Brilliant Khuzwayo and Reyaad Pieterse) and we also have another young keeper that we are looking at so there will be four keepers next season,” Motaung concludes.
