Kabelo Mahlasela has finally broken his silence regarding his future with parent club Kaizer Chiefs, which now has a huge shadow hanging over it due to the lockdown.
The exciting midfielder, who is currently on loan at Polokwane City for the remainder of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season, has a big decision to make as his contract with Amakhosi expires at the same time as his loan deal.

"With what's happening right now I'm not sure what's going to happen, I don't want to lie," Mahlasela tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"I don't know whether I will go back to Chiefs or stay at Polokwane City because of what's happening at the moment. I'm also not sure what's going to happen you see, I just have to wait and see what happens, whether they finish the league or we continue playing.
"But at the present moment I'm not sure what's going to happen. To be honest, playing for Chiefs is every player's dream. You remember I once told you so, before I even went to Chiefs.

"Somewhere, somehow, I feel like I owe Chiefs because they've been good to me. All this time I was at Chiefs they've been good to me so I wouldn't mind going back to Chiefs.
"But at the end of the day the decision doesn't lie with me alone. So whatever happens I will have to face it to see what is what. I feel I still owe Chiefs because they've done a lot for me after being out injured for such a long time.
"But then it's life. Whatever happens, happens, we shall move forward. For now I'm just focusing on playing football.

"At the moment I think everyone is not thinking straight due to this coronavirus. It puts pressure on everyone. The agreement [when I left Chiefs] was to go and play football.
"As a footballer you need to play. You need to get as much game-time as you can, so the agreement was to go and play football and the rest shall follow."
Mahlasela says he is currently keeping fit at his house due to the 21-day lockdown.
"I'm at my place in Vaal. I gym a lot because there's this programme they gave us, so I've been following that programme. I have a garden in my backyard so I set up there. I have my own gym equipment even though it's not enough."
