Jomo Cosmos' Bamuza Sono confident of overcoming Magesi to reach last-32 of Nedbank Cup

The National First Division (NFD) Competition Qualification Draw was conducted in Johannesburg today.

Cosmos were drawn to play struggling Magesi away. Magesi are rock bottom on the NFD table with six points, while Cosmos are in fifth position with 16 points.

“It’s a good draw even though we playing a team that we don’t know, but I’m pretty confident that we will go to the next round. We haven’t seen them, but Mr. Sono (Jomo Sono) and his technical team have some footage… so they should know more or less what we up against,” Sono told snl24.com/kickoff.

Sono is also happy with the way Cosmos started the 2016/17 season.

“So far so good… in the previous years while we were in the NFD you wouldn’t see Cosmos in this position that they are in right now. Normally we will challenge for the league in the second round. We still on the right track at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Sono revealed the team will not be signing any players in the January transfer window.

“No, no no… we are more than happy with the players that we have right now,” he concluded.
