Free agent Venezuelan striker Gustavo Paez could be back in South African football again if things go his way this time around.
The speedy forward's representatives in Mzansi are currently in negotiations with the Team Of Choice with the hope of finding him an employment contract.
'Gusheshe' returned to South Africa last year after he was signed by Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila but had to leave before he even kicked a ball when it was discovered he reportedly didn't have all the necessary documents with him at the time.
That move was blocked by the club's former CEO Sello Chokoe, who ironically is now facing charges of fraud to the tune of R2-million and is still due to face the club's disciplinary committee.
At the moment Paez is back in his home country of Venezuela and is said to be in possession of all his papers.
"Yes, they need him at Maritzburg, we are in talks," his agent Gerald Baloyi tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"But we haven't agreed to anything yet as I first need to find out from the boy if he is prepared to come here. He is a free agent and I have all the necessary documents with me here."
This website understands that head coach Ernst Middendorp will have the final say on the matter after recently bringing in Chiefs striker Keletso Sifama and Serbian defender Dusan Stevic.
Meanwhile, midfielder Keagan Buchanan has been released and defender Pogiso Sanoka has joined TS Galaxy.
