Former Orlando Pirates striker Phumudzo Manenzhe praises the signing of Tshegofatso Mabasa

Former Orlando Pirates target Phumudzo Manenzhe has praised the club for acquiring the services of a target man.

Tshegofatso Mabasa finished the 2018/19 with 10 goals in all competitions for Bloemfontein Celtic and will be expected to deliver in a Buccaneers jersey.

"I'm happy because when you look at the past two seasons, in terms of the target man we had in the club, he was not producing the goals. Now you go get a Tshegofatso Mabasa who I am very happy with. He plays well with his back to goals and he is very powerful aerially," Manenzhe said.

"This is one of the target mans who are mobile. He is coming into Orlando Pirates with a lot of goals. He scored 10 goals in all competitions, plus the three assists. He will be able to hold up the ball and bring in the likes of Vincent Pule and Lorch into the game, which is what Orlando Pirates was missing. Every time we had a corner kick as Buccaneers we were not hopeful because we did not have somebody powerful, but now Mabasa brings that."=

There's another player Manenzhe is excited to see at Pirates.

"Fortune Makaringe is another player I am excited to see. He has been consistent, he's a box-to-box player. You look at the game model of Pirates, they want to build from the back, get into midfield, get somebody to form combination play, small triangles and Fortune Makaringe brings that."
