Royal AM returned to winning ways in the DStv Premiership after edging Golden Arrows 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Arrows made three changes to the side that was hammered 4-0 by TS Galaxy, as goalkeeper Nkosingiphile Gumede , Divine Lunga and Velemseni Ndwandwe were all recalled.
Royal AM, meanwhile, made wholesale changes from their defeat against Kaizer Chiefs, as the likes of Motebang Sera, Tebogo Potsane, Thato Lingwati, Elias Pelembe and Mokete Mogaila returned to the line-up.
The game got off to a quick start, with end to end attacks as Knox Mutizwa had a chance on 20 minutes after charging through at the near post but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Hugo Nyame.
After a frantic opening exchanges, the pace of the game slowed down from a water break in the heat midway through the first stanza and although both sides were up for it, they needed to make vast improvement coming from the half-time interval, as they could not carve out clear chances.
The second stanza was much better from the off, particularly from Abafana Bes'thende as Ndwandwe and Mutizwa had good chances thwarted by Nyame.
However, as the game opened up, Thabo Matlaba eventually broke the deadlock for Royal AM on the hour-mark with a left-footed strike in the box after he was setup by Sera.
Arrows rallied as Mutizwa levelled matters on 68 minutes with a strike from out of the box after he was teed up by Lunga.
With the game on the balance, Royal AM made a double attacking changes with 13 minutes to go as Sedwyn George and Menzi Masuka provided fresh legs.
Thwihli Thwahla were vindicated with six minutes to go, as George snatched the winner with a strike in the bottom corner after a cross by Mfundo Thikazi, as they ended a three-game winless run.
