David Radebe says Kaizer Chiefs won't make top eight in DStv Premiership

'Umkhumbi ka Noah' says he cannot see the Glamour Boys even finishing the 2020/21 season inside the top eight despite the arrival of Gavin Hunt as head coach.

After a 5-0 drubbing by fierce rivals Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-finals, a dark cloud is now hovering over the 'new dawn' the club promised the fans during the off-season.

"Yoh, I don't think they will make it into the top eight this season," a disappointed Radebe tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"The way they are playing there's no way they are going to finish in the top eight. They won't be fighting relegation but top eight, I don't think they are going to make it.

"The way their results have been going... they lose today, tomorrow they draw, then lose again and win and lose again... you see that's how they work, hence I'm saying I don't see them making the top eight.

"They just need to be consistent because this thing of winning and losing is not going to help."

Amakhosi have surprised everyone with their lacklustre performances this season, failing to even to put up a brave fight against the Buccaneers, a fixture that has always been known to have no favourites despite what the form book says.

"I also don't know now what is really happening, it's confusing," Radebe admits. "Look at all the goals Pirates scored, they are all the same. The whole five goals look similar. All of them are counters.

"When it's like this we blame everyone because we can't concede five similar goals. Pirates beat Chiefs using only counters. It's two against three or two against two every day when they play against Chiefs.

"As for the defence, you can't tell if their job is to defend or to score during open play. Everyone wants to go forward and score, that makes them forget their defensive duties, hence all the goals they've conceded against Pirates look similar."

Amakhosi are currently in position 11 on the DStv Premiership table with four points from three matches.
