Celtic on Saturday held a ceremony to mark the opening of Dr. Molemela Stadium, which was formerly known as Seisa Ramabodu Stadium and re-opened in October last year after being closed for renovations in 2011.
“I am still shaking with amazement and incredibly humbled by the honour given to me by the government, Mister Ace Magashule (The Premier of the Free State), Councillor Thabo Manyoni (Mayor of the Mangaung metro) and the ministries associated with sport in Mr Fikile Mbalula (Minister of Sport and Recreation) and Mme Mathabo Leeto (MEC for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture),” Molemela is quoted as saying by the club's website.
“We also appreciate the endorsement coming from the Ramabodu family. It is distinctively clear that my hard work and commitment to football is highly recognised. I must thank and respect the Ramabodu family firstly for being kind in accepting the change of name at the stadium and their ability to support me immensely in the process.
“Celtic must also be commended for initiating and making sure both families were genuinely represented in the entire process. From today Celtic will start winning at this ground, everything has been done appropriately and the time has come for legions of our supporters to start celebrating victories.”
