SuperSport United and AmaZulu could not be separated after playing to a goalless draw in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday night.
Usuthu coach Arthur Zwane recalled goalkeeper Veli Mothwa while Etiosa Ighodaro and Sifiso Ngobeni were also back in the starting line-up.
For SuperSport, Samir Nurkovic was back in the starting line-up following the weekend's defeat to Magesi FC while veteran striker Bradley Grobler was back in the matchday squad and named on the bench.
The game was played at a lively tempo early on but clear-cut chances were few and far between in the opening 20 minutes, with Nurkovic going closest with a header that sailed wide from a corner.
While Usuthu struggled to carve out chances, SuperSport went close a few minutes later Nyiko Mobbie unleashed a powerful strike from distance that forced Mothwa into a superb save to ensure the sides went into the break all square.
Coach Zwane opted for a double change after the halftime break as Ben Motswhari and Elmo Kambindu came on for Ethan Brooks and Ighodaro as the visitors pushed for the opening goal.
With the situation not improving, SuperSport made a double change of their own as Grobler made his return by replacing Nurkovic in the attack while Gamphani Lungu made way for Oratilwe Moloisane.
Unfortunately, neither side were able to find the breakthrough and were forced to settle for a share of the spoils at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
