Chiefs suffered a major blow after left-back, Sfiso Hlanti picked up a serious injury during training which could likely rule him out of action for the rest of the season.
Amakhosi also go into Saturday's Soweto derby still licking their wounds following an upset 1-0 defeat at home to Stellenbosch FC on Tuesday.
"He was back peddling and put his foot down behind him and I am not joking, everybody within 20 meters heard it.
"It was like a pistol went off," Baxter said when detailing how Hlanti picked up an Achilles injury on Thursday."
The Phefeni Glamor Boys are expected to select Reeve Frosler as a make-shift left-back in the absence of Hlanti with Sbusiso Mabiliso struggling for match fitness.
"Mabiliso and Reeve should be candidates," Baxter added.
"Unless we go for three centre-backs, I mean as they play with three centre-backs at times.
"We also play three centre-backs, so we can opt for three centre-backs, preferably with a wing-back such as Happy Mashiane as wing-back more than a full-back."
Chiefs are also set to be without the services of Lebohang Manyama and Leonardo Castro due to injury.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
