Abia Nale says leaving Kaizer Chiefs is one of the toughest decisions he had made

The 26-year-old moved to the Mother City after finding his opportunities limited at Chiefs, where he sat in the queue behind the likes of Bernard Parker, Lehlohonolo Majoro and Kingston Nkhatha.

"It was hard to leave Chiefs … a very tough decision," Nale tells snl24.com/kickoff. "But to be happy you need to play and the thing about not playing is it creates a negative attitude.

"So I just want to focus on what I have to do at Ajax; what happened in the past has happened. Now I'm in a better place and I want to be positive and focus here."

Despite his lack of game-time this season, Ajax were still willing to take a gamble on Nale; something that does not surprise the player.

"I wasn't surprised that Ajax made an offer for me; I was prepared and I'll always be prepared for anything that happens," he adds. "I'm looking forward to playing regularly and helping the team move away from the position they are in at the moment."
