Why Seema resigned from Polokwane City

Keke Mokoena has confirmed that head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has sensationally tendered his resignation from DStv Premiership outfit Polokwane City.

Seema handed in his resignation to the Polokwane hierarchy on Sunday.

The former Orlando Pirates captain was absent from first-team training at Rise and Shine week due to a cited family bereavement.

According to sources close to the club, Seema has recently not been compensated since October, even though Mokoena cited other reasons behind his departure.

"Hloni has resigned," Mokoena tells KickOff.

"It only happened on on Sunday. I can't say much more except to say that the coach wants peace of mind.

"That is the reason he resigned."

Polokwane are in an impressive sixth position in the league standings ahead of the upcoming international break.

Seema's side have registered 17 points from 12 matches played but have failed to record a win in their last four encounters.

Alongside recording four draws, Polokwane crashed out of the Telkom Knockout after a 2-0 defeat to Stellenbosch FC.
