Polokwane to keep going with unfancied coach

Polokwane City have retained Phuti Mohafe as the man to continue leading the team since the departure of their co-coaches Duncan Lechesa and Lehlohonolo Seema.

Polokwane won promotion under Duncan Lechesa before working as a co-coach with Seema once the team was in the DStv Premiership.

Lechesa then left in October and subsequently joined opted to join Venda FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship replacing Joel Masutha in the process.

At Venda, Lechesa must find the formula of moving the club up the table with the hope of ultimately catching up with the promotion chasing pack.

Seema then also followed Lechesa out at Polokwane two weeks ago and has since taken over at Sekhukhune United.

Lechesa and Seema's departures appears to suggest that there are issues at the Limpopo club where Johnny Mogaladi is the boss.

In the meanwhile, Mohafe has been left to oversee proceedings at training.

Word from within the club is that the international break has turned into a little pre-season with double sessions on most days.

Mohafe is thin on top league head coach experience but has worked extensively in the first division since he stopped playing at Witbank Spurs.

Polokwane – who are up in sixth position – travel to TS Galaxy for their next league match on Sunday with Mohafe to continue in charge having already done so since Seema left.
