In this edition of Supporters Forum, KickOff speaks to Orlando Pirates fan Lindani Zulu about his long-standing affair with the Buccaneers.
Name of supporter
"My real name is Lindani Zulu. I was employed somewhere but decided to start my own company.
"I've been self-employed for two years now. My nickname is Model C. I'm from Roodepoort."
Club supported
"I have never supported any other club besides Orlando Pirates. I grew up supporting Orlando Pirates."
How long supported?
"The first time I started supporting them was when they defeated Kaizer Chiefs 9-10 during penalty shoot-outs in the old Iwisa Maize Meal Spectacular.
"Because I'm now 40 years old I can say I've been supporting this club for 32 years now. I was eight years old when I fell in love with the Buccaneers."
Are you happy with the bosses?
"Since Floyd Mbele left the club things have been going well, even though the boys disappointed us recently in the Carling Black Label Cup.
"As supported, we were not happy, maybe the players are not happy when it comes to bonuses after winning cups.
"After winning so many cups the team's form suddenly dropped. I think there is something wrong with the management.
"I suspect foul play from the likes of Screamer Tshabalala, that's something we are closely monitoring as fans at the moment."
Are you happy with the coach?
"100%. It's just that you can't entirely satisfy a football fan. If a team wins cups it's the players who get all the credit, but when the very same players fail to perform the blame goes to the coach.
"The only mistake the coach has been not having a starting eleven, he changes the team too often. I suspect interference."
Are you happy with the players?
"I'm very much happy, even though we need to sign a striker in January.
"Erasmus is no longer scoring, Evidence Makgopa he is trying but remember he is from Baroka so he is not ready to play 90 minutes for a team like Pirates."
Who do you want them to sign?
"Here in South Africa, I see no one. They should go outside the country and find a good striker. I wanted Fiston Mayele but bigger teams with big pockets beat us to him."
Your message to the team?
"To the players, coach and management, let's go to FNB Stadium on Saturday and collect all three points."
