Pirates star: We know where the trophy is going...

Kamogelo Sebelebele has made a big statement regarding the MTN8 after helping Orlando Pirates proceed to the final by leaving Mamelodi Sundowns the worse for wear over two legs.

Sebelele was once again the hero for Pirates as he netted the equaliser to cancel out Iqraam Rayners’ opener in the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final against Sundowns at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturdau.

The game ended 1-1 and went to penalties, where Sipho Chaine saved two spot kicks to ensure Bucs win 4-1 via the lottery of the penalty shootut.

Speaking to the club’s media, the former TS Galaxy attacker said he was confident the side would successfully defend their title.

"I want to start by thanking God for the talent He gave me, and also the coaches for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to play for Orlando Pirates.

"The game wasn’t easy. We didn’t start the way we had planned, but at half-time we regrouped in the change room and made some adjustments. The players who came off the bench also brought a lot of energy," said Sebelebele.

"At the end of the day, we’re one team. Whether you’re on the pitch or on the bench, everyone is important.

"I’m looking forward to the final, which will be my second final as a professional player. I want to win gold and bring home a medal, and it’s obvious we know where the MTN8 trophy is going.

"You see, our jersey is different (pointing to the gold MTN8 badge on Pirates' sleeve). It’s not the same as the other teams’ jerseys."

"What we’re missing now are just the goals, but they’ll come, and when they do, we’ll make our supporters happy. They always come out in numbers, and it’s our responsibility to make them proud," he assured.

Bucs will face Stellenbosch in the final in what will be a repeat of last season's MTN8 final.
