The pattern of how Orlando Pirates score goals continued in the MTN8 final, with head coach Jose Riveiro being credited with the controversial second goal scored by Tshegofatso Mabasa in a 3-1 win over Stellenbosch FC.
As previously revealed by KickOff, Pirates have been getting the upper hand throughout the MTN8 via set-pieces.

They scored two set-piece goals in their 3-1 victory over SuperSport United in extra-time of the quarter-finals and also netted twice from set-plays in the 2-0 success against Cape Town City in the second leg of the semi-final.
In the final against Stellies, Bucs got the equaliser through a set-piece after Monnapule Saleng reacted quickest from a rebound after Deon Hotto's free-kick was saved back into play by Sage Stephens.
They then made it 2-1 in added time, though rather controversially, after referee Abongile Tom allowed for a quick free-kick, ahead of the correct spot the foul had taken place.
The reaction by Relebohile Mofokeng after he cleverly scanned the situation and played a quick free-kick, towards Tshegofatso Mabasa, who scored, is something emphasized and trained by Riveiro, according to wingback Thabiso Monyane.
"The coach also implements this in the training grounds. [If] there's a foul there that happens, he just doesn't referee it, it's just play on or just a quick play or quick throw-ins. Those are the small things that make a big difference. We're thankful that it worked in our favour," Monyane said on Radio 2000's Game On.
"It's the little details in football that counts. If you look now, the most goals [we scored] have been like set-pieces and set-pieces is not your corners and free-kicks only but also throw-ins.
"Those are really important moments of the game, which you need to focus on and take care of."
The Soweto giants became the first team in the PSL era to win the MTN8 for three consecutive seasons, all under the Spaniard.
