Ex-Pirates administrator gets new gig

Former Orlando Pirates official Senzo Mbatha has earned a new gig across the border after being appointed as the Botswana Football League (BFL) managing consultant.

Mbatha has agreed to a one-year deal and will be tasked with improving the general standing of the league with priority around the commercial value.

He replaces Solomon Ramochotlhwane who left BFL last year.

"I'm looking forward to a new football project.

"It is always a fulfilling pleasure to serve football on the African continent," says Mbatha.

Mbatha played the game in his younger years but has since grown into becoming a respected administrator.

Locally, he has worked at Bay United, Pirates, and Platinum Stars amongst other clubs and has recently been in Tanzania where he ran the affairs of Simba and Young Africans.

The confirmation of Mbatha's appointment comes in the same week as the return of retired referee Andile 'Ace' Ncobo to the PSL.

Ncobo previously worked at the PSL in the same capacity appointment of a new manager in the period prior to the World Cup after he retired from officiating having served as a FIFA referee.
