Mamelodi Sundowns players to share R26-million total prize money if they win 2020 Nedbank Cup final

Prestige, records and a R27-million boatload of cash is what Mamelodi Sundowns players could take home tonight if they clinch the treble.

Sundowns stand in line to become the second team after Orlando Pirates in 2011 and 2012 to win a domestic treble in the PSL era if they beat Bloemfontein Celtic in the Nedbank Cup final at Orlando Stadium (20h00).

Pitso Mosimane's side have already won the Telkom Knockout and Absa Premiership this season, which carry respective cash purses of R4.25-million and R15-million, with R800 000 added for their early MTN8 exit.

Masandawana players and the technical team could share another R7-million if they beat Celtic to bring their shared group earnings for the 2019/20 season to R27.05-million excluding match bonuses.

"It's standard procedure at Sundowns [for players and the technical team to share all the prize money]," an official at Sundowns tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"The players know their mandate is just only to bring the cup to Chloorkop and they take the rest."

Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco has promised the Siwelele players and technical team R3.5-million to share if they emerge victorious in Soweto.

Sundowns have launched a slick new PUMA home and away strip as well as a fresh new club logo – check it out below!
