City host Sundowns in a last eight match at Cape Town Stadium today (15h00).
“We’re talking about a team that has conquered Africa,” Roberts told snl24.com/kickoff.
“They are a quality team with depth, that consistently competes in Africa. They have all the experience as well. It’s with this in mind that I’m looking forward to test myself and would like to start against them.
“It would also be my first start in front of my home fans and that be would special if that should happen, especially against Sundowns. But it’s all up to the coach if he selects me or not.”
Roberts says the Citizens are motivated to get to the final so that they can play in front of their fans at Cape Town Stadium, where the final is to be played on May 19.
“The fact that final is also in Cape Town is a big motivation for us. We are working extremely hard on training to try eliminate our mistakes on match day. This is our last chance to win a trophy [this season] and we are fully focused,” Roberts concluded.
