Bloemfontein Celtic players promised R3.5-million Nedbank Cup prize money for win

Celtic beat Baroka 3-0 at Orlando Stadium last Saturday to book themselves a ticket to the Nedbank Cup final, where they will meet Mamelodi Sundowns after they beat Bidvest Wits 3-2 in the other semi-final.

With the South African national cup carrying a R7-million purse for the winners, Celtic's players can look forward to a healthy windfall should they emerge victorious.

"It's standard. The players will share half of the prize money" Phunya Sele Sele CEO Khumbulani Konco confirms to snl24.com/kickoff.

"The boys did well on Saturday but now the focus is on the league and we will think about the final later."

Besides the prize money, Celtic stand a chance of playing in the CAF Confederation Cup next year if they manage to upset The Brazilians in the final game of the season.
