Pirates will begin their title pursuit with an MTN8 quarter-final clash against Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.
"Royal AM are still building so I see Pirates advancing to the next round of the competition," Motale tells KickOff.
"With the way Pirates are performing at the moment, I don't see Royal AM stopping them from reaching the semi-finals.
"The only challenge for Pirates is failing to convert their chances.
"In defence and in the middle they are superb though, the only thing is they are failing to score goals.
"But the good thing with the current Pirates team is that anyone can score, even defenders.
"I think they all know getting a trophy so early in the season will work wonders in terms of confidence.
"It will be a huge confidence booster for the whole team in their aims of winning the league.
"Jose Riveiro is going to be the difference this season."
