Gould, 34, revived his career at SuperSport with 24 league starts last term after an injury-ravaged four-year spell at Kaizer Chiefs.
The centre-back was named United's Player of the Season in 2016/17 and has continued to impress, helping the Tshwane side win the MTN8 on the weekend with a victory over Cape Town City in the final.
“Rejuvenated? I don’t know what you talking about? I’ve been like this all the time,” said Gould when asked about his resurgence following the win at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“I don’t like the word rejuvenated, that means I was dead. So... what you saying to me is I was dead? I died?
“Anyway, I’m at a great place at a great club, with support staff and thepeople are just amazing. I’m not doing it for them, I’m doing it for the kids that are looking at what I’ve been through, looking at the setbacks I had.
“They must remember that they should not give up. They should work as hard as the next person and even better,” concluded the defender, whose form has seen him recalled to the Bafana Bafana fold.
