Mamelodi Sundowns reveal new Puma kits for 2018/19 season

According to a press release, the kit 'leverages the personality of the team and their roots in Mamelodi, expressing how the Beat of Mamelodi brings to life and celebrates the PSL Champions and their fans across the country'.

“The campaign talks to the singing and dancing which has become a trademark of the team and the players, but also connects everyone through their daily hustle as they live and work in South Africa and prepare for each Sundowns football match,” says PUMA South Africa Marketing Director Brett Bellinger. “The beat can be represented in a heartbeat - the fans and the team beating as one - and this is symbolised by a subtle M (for Mamelodi) heartbeat which pulses across the front of the shirts.”

Sundowns spokesperson Thulani Thuswa says the club is delighted with the new kit. “This is definitely a jersey fit for a club as ambitious and progressive as Mamelodi Sundowns. The evoKNIT technology featured in the new jerseys is ahead of its time, as PUMA once again lead the market with unique designs and continue to put The Brazilians ahead of the pack. In the 2018/19 season the boys will step out in style as we seek to stamp our authority on the local and continental scenes once again. We will also have even more fan gear on offer and our card-carrying members will still enjoy a 20% discount.”

The shirt and shorts are engineered using PUMA’s highly-developed evoKNIT thermoregulation technology. Engineered cooling zones in the shirt act as channels regulating the body’s temperature, while dryCELL technology provides moisture management across the fabric with high-performance yarns that wick sweat away from the body. The seamless evoKNIT construction provides a lightweight ‘second skin’ feel, so the fabric acts in harmony with the players' movements and not against them, allowing for improved performance on the pitch.

The shirt is in-store Friday 20 July 2018 retailing for R799. Retailers include PUMA, Totalsports, The Cross Trainer, Sportsmans Warehouse, Studio 88, Takealot and other independent retailers.
