After a flying start to the campaign for City’s new coach Benni McCarthy, the coastal outfit have found the going tough in recent weeks.
The Citizens lost on penalties to SuperSport United in the MTN8 final before suffering 2-1 league defeats to Bloemfontein Celtic and Chippa United.
According to Comitis the situation has been addressed heading into Saturday's Telkom Knockout opener with Premiership leaders Baroka in Limpopo.
“Not at all, there’s no panic in our camp,” Comitis tells snl24.com/kickoff. “I have met with all the players and the technical team individually and we’re all on the same page and know what is expected.
“We addressed the little things now before they start becoming bigger things, you know. But I’m happy with things overall.
“Things are very tight with regards to the league. Had we won the game against Chippa we would’ve been in second place and sung a different story. But I’m still happy with the way things are going as it’s still early on in the season.”
Comitis conceded the defeat to Matsatsantsa a fortnight ago hurt them in the pocket. Before the final Comitis said the players would receive at least half of the R8 million in prize money if they emerged victorious at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“We drew 0-0 against SuperSport. It’s financially where we lost. It would have been life changing for a lot of players,” Comitis explains.
“I mean, for some players it would have been six months to a year’s salary. So they are aware that they have missed out on this one and what it could have meant for their families, and the club too.”
