Ajax's Granwald Scott credits coach Roger de Sa ahead of MTN8 Final with Kaizer Chiefs

Ajax will contest cup honours with holders Kaizer Chiefs in Port Elizabeth on Saturday, four months after losing to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup decider last season.

De Sa's youthful charges also share the League summit with Bidvest Wits after four games, with Scott giving his due to the man in charge.

“I need to add that he is more than just a coach - he is a mentor and a father figure to the players,” Scott tells snl24.com/kickoff.

“What I admire most is the fact that he is very approachable and accessible. You can speak to the coach regarding any matter on and off the field.

“I think that is exactly what the younger players are feeling and why the team is in such a good space.

“It shows in our performances and results as well.”

The 27-year-old feels it will be just reward for the costal outfit to upset Amakhosi at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

“This would be great reward for us all – players, coaching staff and the management. I’ve been involved in six previous cup finals and only won twice.

“It would surely be nice to swap the tears of heartache for tears of joy."
