Ex-Baroka FC striker Siyabonga 'Sniper' Mtombeni has completed his move to fellow Motsepe Foundation Championship club Upington City FC.
The 26-year-old from Mhluzi, Middelburg in Mpumalanga province, has been a free agent since he parted ways with Bakgaga at the end of the 2024/2025 season.

He joined the Lebowakgomo-based club two seasons ago from Gauteng ABC Motsepe League club Jomo Cosmos. He has also had stints at the likes of FC Sporting.
KickOff understands the talented striker has signed a one-year deal at Upington City FC, where he is expected to boost the attack.
By signing Mtombeni, Upington beat the likes of fellow national first division clubs like Kruger United, Black Leopards, and The Bees FC, who were all circling the player's signature.

Upington finished in position 22 on the log table last season, and this season they will be looking to at least finish in a play-offs spot, to allow themselves to fight for a place in the lucrative Betway Premiership.
The Motsepe Foundation Championship 2025/2026 season is set to kick off on Friday, 22 August 2025.
