Sundowns star outlines expectations for tough Al Ahly clash

Midfielder Rivaldo Coetzee has outlined Mamelodi Sundowns' expectations ahead of Saturday's CAF Champions League group stage fixture against Al Ahly.

After playing to a 2-2 draw in the first leg tie in Egypt, the Brazilians are hoping to collected all three points at home as they prepare to host Egyptian giants Al Ahly this weekend.

Sundowns currently top Group B with seven points from their three outings and are the only team in the group with a loss. Meanwhile, Al Ahly are at risk of missing out on the knockout stage as they sit in third place with a four points from their last three matches.

Because of this, Downs midfielder Coetzee is expecting a tough encounter against the Club of the Century.

"We know against Al Ahly, it's always a tough game," Coetzee told the club's media.

"We expected it to be very tough because they are also on the back foot. I don't think they are in the position where they want to be in the group stages right now, in term of points, so we expect it to be tough.

"But the spirit is always high in the team, so we're looking forward to that one."

The match will kick-off at 15:00 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
