In this edition of our weekly feature In The Game, KickOff speaks with former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Craig Bianchi.
The former centre-back shares which club he would have loved to play for if he were still active today.
Growing up, who was your role model?
"In my time, Lucas Radebe, Neil Tovey, and Doctor Khumalo were my role models. Doctor Khumalo was a legend, he was a player we all loved to watch. Lucas Radebe played the same position I did."
Did you model your game after these players?
"Maybe not Doctor Khumalo. I probably didn't have enough skill to do what he does [laughs]. But definitely Lucas, and Neil Tovey as well. Tovey was also direct and strong."
What is your favourite PSL club?
"Mamelodi Sundowns, obviously. I played there, so I know the culture of the club. This club has always supported its players. I love the club, and funny enough, I'm wearing a Sundowns T-shirt as I speak to you."
Who was your best friend in football?
"When I played in Jo'burg, my best friend in football was Andre Arendse because we were roommates. I was also close with Wendell Robinson."
Who is your favourite player in SA?
"That's a tough one for me. I would have loved to choose an infield player, but I have to go with Ronwen Williams. I like how he conducts himself, he seems humble, and I appreciate that."
If you could join any club right now as a player...
"Mamelodi Sundowns, of course. If I'm good enough to play there, then I want to compete for a spot. But if I can't go there, then definitely Kaizer Chiefs."
Is there anything you dislike about football?
"There's nothing I dislike. I enjoy (the fact) that football brings people together."
Which referee gave you a tough time?
"I'm currently coaching youngsters, and I always tell them, 'Don't get involved with the referees'."
