Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Frank "Disco" Makua believes his former club have acquired enough quality in the transfer window to compete for top honours this season.

Makua says finishing in the top three of the DStv Premiership would be huge for the Glamour Boys but says they might need to add more manpower up front despite the recent signing of Colombian striker Jasond Gonzalez.

Although Makua feels that Gonzalez is a promising signing, he's of the opinion that when Chiefs wants a player, the price automatically goes up.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "If Chiefs want a player the price goes up' - Chiefs transfer struggles detailed" story:

"Agreed there, Frank. We have a good squad now but turning them into be a good team is the challenge. In the short term, the coach needs time that he does not have. Hence, I blamed the poor decision to demote Zwane this season.

"If he was still a head coach, I'm certain that we could win a trophy. So, we must support this team and not put too much pressure to win a cup quickly. They will do well with time; they need our support and not judgment!! Khosi 4 Life!" says khothakhosi.

"Free agents United won't get any trophy for the next ten years," says Saavedra.

"Bull... Chiefs must stop dictating everything, one thing I noticed is that it doesn't appeal for players to play for Chiefs, every player wants to make money, and not work for free for this family business," says Nkosko.

"According to Makua, the price only goes up when it's Chiefs who want players. What about Sundowns and Pirates? the price drops if it's them who want players? Chiefs' legends are as useless as the club," says thulamda.

"Pirates always sign unknown players so don't ever mention Sundowns," replies dumisanitembe72.

"Makaringe, SP Ndlovu, Ofori, Hotto, Shandu, Maswanganyi, Ndlondlo to name just few are unknown players? Why must I not mention Sundowns? because you always say Sundowns is killing the market... If you have nothing to say, just chill. Chiefs must pay what the clubs ask. No excuse," replies thulamda.

"Some legend claim to have more information about the inside running of the clubs. How do you know that clubs raise prizes for certain teams if not in administration?

"The fact is that all clubs are owned by millionaires and people who knows business," says lombosngoape.

"Every player has a market value. If their offer is far less, then why blame other teams for not accepting the insult," says Asa De Gen.

"Kaizer Chiefs must learn to respect other teams when they want their players," says Saavedra.

"I sometimes ask myself if these ex-players really watch these games, Kaizer Chiefs used to dominate.

"Chiefs had the best players like abo Chippa Molatedi, Ace Khuse, Ace Ntsoelengoe, Sputla Malombo, DK15, Lebese Mooki, Scara , Pule and Shoes. So now I want to know, where did they go wrong?" asks BrutuswamaJuju.

"I just want you to not play dumb here or maybe you trying to look smart. Fine truth of the matter is that the arrival of Motsepe with his bags of money and secondly the agents has realized that they can make more money from from Chiefs by first forcing Motsepe to activate his master plan of starving opposition teams by buying all the best players whether they need or not.

"And remember there are soccer bosses who just hate Chiefs for its success, and they ensure that Chiefs don't get players easily e.g Comitis doesn't even talk about Sundowns and another good example is the TS Galaxy owner," says userThautha.

"A lot has happened bro, we use to have good business relationship with other teams and the market and prices were not like how they are right now, and we use to have knowledgeable technical team even in our development, of which I can't say the same thing with the current stuff in right now.

"In my opinion, we are not that bad, we do have a few quality and good players, it's just that I'm not sure about the technical team," replies isaac lekhosi lamilan.

"The mistake is that Chiefs make players sign on a pre-contract. Teams tend to get angry and want to get back them back for such.

"They tend to convince players not to renew their contract and sign them when they are left with 6 months, avoiding to pay the market price of the player," says SoccerMind.

SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao has explained the challenge of taking Bafana Bafana matches outside of Gauteng, to other parts of South Africa.

SA supporters were outnumbered by DR Congo at Orlando Stadium for Bafana's 1-0 win over the Congolese, with head coach Hugo Broos expressing his disappointment with the turnout of local fans, which fueled the debate of taking Bafana matches to other provinces.

SAFA has also faced criticism for failing to draw crowds to matches, with Monyepao saying they've long made efforts to take games to other cities like Cape Town and Durban, claiming that both cities turned down the opportunity.

Monyepao also mentioned that costs for SAFA double when taking national team games outside Gauteng, and she urged other provinces to help the association cover extra costs like flights, accommodation, and stadium hire.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "SAFA CEO explains challenge with taking Bafana matches outside Gauteng" story:

"Where must the SAFA money be used if the cities/provinces need to pay for extra costs?" asks Rio Da Khosi.

"There are many factors at play for this to happen. 1. Massive unemployment that has destroyed the will of the poor from engaging in anything that is not critical to their survival. 2. The negative general mood in the country because of very high crime levels with people not feeling safe and happy.

"3. National team coach targeting the largest fan base of football in the country with unnecessary comments. 5. Poor state of Bafana in general over the years. The players are not good at all," says khothakhosi.

"Even if they change the venue, it will be the same, we the Kaizer Chiefs supporters will not go to the stadium until Broos apologise," says user908858.

"But Bafana has struggled with support for over a decade now. Are you saying Chiefs need apologies for the time Pitso was still the Bafana coach?" replies Lesoganatsoko.
