Mayambela last played for the now-defunct Cape Umoya United, a club that was later sold and rebranded as Venda FC, who now ply their trade in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
He currently works as a youth coach at Cape Town City FC, a club recently relegated from the top tier, and also serves as an assistant coach for the South Africa U-17 national team.
The Professor, as he is affectionately known, has added a significant credential to his growing coaching portfolio, signaling his commitment to developing the next generation of football talent.
Now 37, the ex-Bloemfontein Celtic winger has obtained a UEFA A Diploma License through the Irish Football Association. Check it out on his social media.

Mayambela was recently linked with an assistant coaching role at Chippa United, a position that has since been filled by former Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama.
Despite this setback, Mayambela's prospects of securing a coaching role in the near future remain promising. With his deep understanding of the game, he is likely to attract interest from other clubs looking to strengthen their technical staff.
