Ex-Pirates star unveils tasty new venture in retirement

Former Orlando Pirates star Moeneeb Josephs has taken a keen interest in cooking, but he has somehow managed to combine it with what he is most renowned for – football.

The 44-year-old, these days, is also known for being a youth goalkeeper coach, helping the next generation hone their shot-stopping skills to help them improve and become more confident between the poles.

Now, it seems that the former Bidvest Wits star has taken up a new hobby, cooking, with the idea originating from his time as a professional footballer.

Josephs and his sister Zaida Fredericks have announced that they will be starting a new YouTube show titled Moe Zee's Kitchen

"We are thrilled to announce the official launch of Moe Zee's Kitchen," the duo's Instagram page said.

"Join us on this delicious journey as we blend our love for cooking and soccer into fun, flavourful episodes.

"Our first video drops soon, so stay tuned for mouth-watering recipes, hilarious moments, and a whole lot of fun!"

Josephs, meanwhile, seems to have a natural affinity towards being in front of the camera.

The former Bafana Bafana star opened up on the new venture, and explained what it was that occurred during his time as a footballer that sparked the idea for the show.

"In retirement, i have found a lot of time on my hands," he said in a video uploaded to social media.

"And with this, we have decided to embark on a little cooking show because after football, there's nothing better than eating.

"During my football career I could not eat the food that I would love to have eaten which is our home-cooked meals.

"Knowing that I've travelled all over the world to experience all the different cuisines; coming from a place like Mitchells Plain [in Cape Town], you always long for a certain type of food, and that is a home-cooked meal.

"There was no better place that I could find a home-cooked meal than at my sister Zaida's place. So what I've decided to do now is go on a little cooking journey with you."

Josephs went on to add that the journey would consist of him learning how to cook those home-cooked meals that he seems to be incredibly fond of, with his sister set to become his mentor in what promises to not only be educational, but also rather entertaining.
