JUST IN: Good news for Chiefs with another clearance green light

The options available at Kaizer Chiefs have widened with yet another off-season signing becoming available for selection after the completion of paperwork.

Chiefs were without four of their off-season signings in their 2-0 win against Stellenbosch on Sunday with Thabiso Monyane and Siphesihle Ndlovu the only two who got minutes.

Monyane played from start to finish while Ndlovu came on as a substitute.

Guinea Bissau-born striker Flavio Silva was absent due to paperwork related reasons just like Ethan Chislett and Nkanyiso Shinga while Paseka Mako had fitness hurdles to go past first.

Chiefs assistant coach has confirmed that Chislett and Mako were cleared earlier in the week and are available for the match against Polokwane City this evening (Wednesday) at FNB Stadium.

This website can confirm that Shinga was also cleared today after a tedious process for international clearance.

While Chiefs did their part in good time in aligning to all the FIFA transfer market system requirements there were delays from Shinga’s previous club FC Alverca and Federação Portuguesa de Futebol (Portuguese Football Federation).

The process has taken longer than it was anticipated but the lights are now all green for the 25-year-old left-back.

FIFA has since validated the information from both clubs on the TMS allowing for the South African Football Association to request for the ITC from FPF.

With that done, Shinga can then be registered with the PSL as a holder of a South African ID.

This paves way for Shinga to play professional football in his country of birth for the first time in his career.

He left the KZN Academy as a teenager in 2018 for Portugal where he has played until his move to Chiefs.
