Chiefs’ specific plan for the season disclosed

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has made a determined call ahead of their first league match of the new season at home.

Chiefs will open the curtain at FNB Stadium on Wednesday (19h30) at the back of a resounding victory away at Stellenbosch on Sunday.

The volume on the positive is on high in the Chiefs dressing room as they seek to make this season far much better than what happened last term in the league when they ended with less than half the points available to play for after a 28,57% winning mark and a negative goal difference.

Amakhosi failed to win all three in a row in the league last season.

"The schedule is a little bit tighter than we would have liked," says Kaze.

"We played on Sunday and yesterday (Monday) was travelling day, today is already the day before the game.

"We need to do everything to put ourselves in good condition heading to tomorrow’s game which is our first home game in front of our fans.

"We know what we have been lacking…consistency last season, which is why tomorrow’s game for us is very important.

"We are very focused.

"We believe that the new players are going to contribute as well because there are so many games that are coming, and everyone will have a chance to help the team.

"We know what we will face tomorrow.

"We will face a tough team, physical team, low block, very good on set-pieces that goes on transitions very quickly.

"We know everything that we will expect from them, and we are prepared.

"We are prepared because we know the importance of having a consistent good performance to try to stay connected to the top of the table," says Kaze.
