Nabi adds new stain at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have added another stain while facing the risk of heading in the direction of the past two seasons after their recent consecutive league defeats.

Chiefs were humiliated 4-1 at home by SuperSport United and then lost 1-0 at Mamelodi Sundowns to surrender all six points on offer this season against the two Tshwane clubs.

Amakhosi also lost the reverse fixtures against Matsatsantsa (1-0) at Peter Mokaba and The Brazilians (2-1) at FNB.

The ugly dent for the side is that this then becomes the first time they have lost home and away in the league against both SuperSport and Sundowns throughout the PSL era years, stretching back to August 1996.

They have been generous in giving away three points having lost to Sundowns (twice), SuperSport (twice), Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows, Cape Town City, and Polokwane City to put them at eight defeats in just 19 league matches.

What is scary for the Soweto giants is that it could get as bad as it has been in the last two years under the L column on the standings.

They suffered 12 losses last season with Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson in charge as they came stuck on 36 points and a 10th-place finish.

The previous campaign, it was another 12 defeats under Arthur Zwane with the Naturena-based club taking a fifth-place seat in the standings.

Chiefs have 11 league fixtures to play and need to avoid another four defeats to make as bad as it has been in the last two years in the column relating to losses.

Amakhosi have Magesi FC at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening (19:30) in the first of the 11 games remaining to include another Soweto Derby.

The eight losses in 19 games have contributed to them sitting with a minus three goal difference having scored 21 and conceded 24.

Chiefs have also failed to win three games in a row anywhere along the way since Nabi took over.
