In this edition of Supporters Forum, Kaizer Chiefs supporter Mtho tells KickOff about his long-standing affair with the Soweto giants.
Mtho also reveals his concerns in the Nasreddine Nabi coached club ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
Club supported before Kaizer Chiefs?
"I have never supported any other club besides Kaizer Chiefs. I have been supporting Kaizer Chiefs for 40 years now, I've been a fan since 1983.
"Ace Ntsoelengoe was still playing for Kaizer Chiefs back then."
What attracted you?
"One day my father took me to the Iwisa Maize Meal Spectacular at FNB Stadium. Immediately I set my foot there all I saw were many people wearing yellow clothes. The roar that erupted each time Chiefs scored got me hooked forever. I had never experienced something like that before."
Are you happy with the club's bosses?
"To be honest with you I don't have a problem who runs that team, my only problem is the acquisition of players. They are signing players who are not made for Chiefs's style of play. We wasted R3 million bringing back Mduduzi Mdantsane whose football is very different to Chiefs's.
"Chiefs is a team that has always been known for grooming its own players. Hence we had the likes of Doctor Khumalo and and Thabang Lebese."
And the coach?
"So far so good, he brought us a cup on less than a season. The likes of Komphela coached in 150 matches and they still did not bring us any cup. Nabi now that he has been given an opportunity to sign his own players, we going to see how good he is."
What about with the players?
"I'm happy with the two signings Thabiso Monyane and Chislett. I'm only disappointed with Flavio Silva. He is not Chiefs type of player. Signing Silva is similar to signing Chivaviro all over again. He will not make it."
Who do you want them to sign?
"Renaldo Leaner the Sekhukhune United goalkeeper. That guy can end our pain. We lacking in that department."
