Redemption chase for Chiefs keeper

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari has headed out to honour his latest international call-up faced with aiming for what will count as redemption.

Ntwari is already back home in Kigali, where he has been called up for the two AFCON qualifiers against Libya at home and Nigeria away.

Rwanda still have a chance of qualifying from Group D but need to collect points.

Having played all but one of his country's last 15 matches, Ntwari is again expected to play both upcoming matches regardless of what has happened at Chiefs to date.

The 25-year-old has found questions being asked of his ability to stand up to the demands that come with being at the Soweto giants.

From the opening seven games that he has played, he has conceded 11.

Besides that, there has been issues relating to his distribution as was evidenced in the most recent defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi legend Itumeleng Khune has advised Ntwari not to stress about who came before him but focus on the job at hand.

With Rwanda, Ntwari will play in an environment with less pressure and criticism than what he faces at Chiefs.

He will take courage from the fact that with the national team, he has had a good run, which included three clean sheets – which included a game against Bafana Bafana.
