Chiefs failed to secure maximum points for a second straight game after they drew 0-0 with the Chilli Boys on Saturday evening.
Solinas was adamant that his charges tried their best to beat Chippa with a fight until the last second but it wasn’t to be.
“We’re fighting and tried to win the game until the last second. We put in another striker to try and win the game," Solinas told SuperSport TV.
“I’m happy with the performance disappointed with the result because three points is very important for us.
“But Chippa played well, it was a difficult game. Fatigue was also a problem for the guys. Also, we lost Mario Booysen at the break. We had one less players to change for the second half.
“This was a problem because we could’ve had one more player to change for the second half to refresh the team. But it’s ok. It’s the football,” Solinas said during a post-match interview.
The Italian tactician also stated seeing his fullbacks in Godfrey Walusimbi and Ramahlwe Mphahlele going forward simultaneously, is due to their plan to have both doing those forays.
“Yes, because we use our fullbacks like a winger. A lot of situations when Chippa sit back and park the bus this is the moment we exploit the width with the full-back,” Solinas said.
“We needed balance. In football, when you can’t win the game. It’s very important not to lose the game. In the end, we kept a little bit of balance in the game and position.
“In this moment, with the team a little bit tired it’s very important for us to the keep the space in the team,” he added.
